That was then...
Few, if any, flower stores in South Florida have such a long history as Field of Flowers.
Although Field of Flowers itself was founded in 1990, owner Donn Flipse is actually a third generation florist. Almost a hundred years ago, in Lanark, Scotland, Donn's grandfather, Jimmy Donn, worked as a proud, young greenhouse apprentice. In the early 1900's, Jimmy immigrated to America, settled in frontier Miami and opened a landscaping and flower business.
It soon became one of the most popular and successful businesses of its kind. Jimmy's son-in-law (and Donn's father), Fred, joined the business after World War II. Donn joined the company in 1971 and later served as its president. When it was finally sold in 1989, Donn Flipse held onto the family dream.
Only this time, it would be bigger and better than ever before.
This is now...
Today, Donn has created a fresh, new retail concept ... Field of Flowers, America's Original Fresh Flower Market.
